Central European Gas Congress
The Slovak Gas and Oil Association is commemorating the 170th anniversary of the Slovak gas industry. The gas industry in the broader Central European region has a long history, marked by numerous challenges and transformations that have been an integral part of its development. The sector continues to face similar challenges today.
These are defined by the EU’s decarbonization efforts and the role of the gas industry in contributing to them, as well as by geopolitical risks—particularly the wars in Ukraine and Iran—which are fundamentally reshaping natural gas supply flows and, along with them, the entire concept of energy security as we have known it.
How are these challenges affecting the Central European region? Will cooperation be the key to overcoming them, or should each country primarily pursue its own interests? What is the future of the gas industry in this part of Europe?
The Central European Gas Conference aims to answer to these questions.
